120 Young Adults And Children From Chernobyl To Arrive In Ireland For Recuperation Holiday
120 children and young adults with special needs will be arriving into Shannon Airport later from Chernobyl.
They'll be staying with host families from 9 different counties for a month-long rest and recuperation holiday.
Over 25,500 have come to Ireland under Chernobyl Children International's programme since the Belarusian nuclear disaster in 1986.
Spokesperson for the charity Helen Faughnan says many of the children come from impoverished backgrounds and state institutions:
