Over 1,700 households have been saved from homelessness Leeside by the Cork Tenancy Protection Service which was launched in 2015.

Speaking to RedFM News Regional Manager of Threshold in Cork Niall Horgan says they weren't able to save all of their clients from homelessness however they managed to help a lot of people who would have otherwise ended up accessing homeless services:

It's hoped a new strategy announced yesterday by the Housing Minister will help to address the rental crisis.
Under the plans a cap of 4% will be imposed on rent hikes in designated pressure zones such as Cork and Dublin.
