A Public Housing Protest Has Taken Place Outside City Hall This Evening

City Council were called upon to retain a site on Model Farm Road for the construction of public mixed income housing. 

It had been proposed that the site be sold to private developers.

The demonstration was organised by Cllr Ted Tynan who is putting a motion before the City Council tonight on the issue and he says while the issue is specific to a particular site it’s urgent that the council return to its previous role as the city’s leading builder of homes for all those who require them.

Speaking to RedFM News Catherine Coffey O’Boyd of the Workers Party says this land is urgently needed for social housing:
