'A sad and dark day in the Killarney area'.
A local representative has described the reaction to the deaths of two people in separate crashes in County Kerry.
A 14 year old boy died after a single vehicle collision on the Ross Road in Killarney overnight, while a teenage passenger in the car has been hospitalised.
Separately, a motorcyclist in his 30s died following a crash near Listry between Killarney and Milltown.
Cathaoirleach of Killarney Municipal District, Councillor Marie Moloney, says the local community is shocked:
"It's a very sad and dark day here in the community and people woke up this morning to shock to hear the news, they're very saddened. It's been a very traumatic day for everyone, and in particular for the families of the victims. We had another fatality on our local roads last night so it's been a really sad and dark day here in the Killarney area."
