Author Of Scoping Inquiry Into Cervical Check To Appear Before Oireachtas Health Committee
The author of the Scoping Inquiry into the Cervical Check Screening Programme, will appear before the Oireachtas Health Committee today.
The meeting was set up to examine the non-dislosure of information to patients and the apparent widespread practice of non-disclosure.
Over 200 women should have received treatment earlier than they did.
Dr Gabriel Scally will discuss his report with members of the Committee for the first time today.
It will also consider the ongoing negotiations between the HSE and the two main labs that examine smear tests for the Cervical Check Programme.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Simon Harris says the Government is determined to work to effectively eradicate cervical cancer in Ireland:
