Bus Eireann Services Were Disrupted On Friday And Further Disruption Could Be On The Cards

SIPTU says the problem stems from the implementation of the 48 Hour Working Rule

SIPTU says up to 17 Bus Eireann service runs from Parnell Place were cancelled or had to be provided by private operators on Friday.

Hundreds of commuters were left stranded due to the 48 hour rule being enforced by the Bus Eireann national officer board, that no driver can work more than 48 hours from the start of the week leading into the Bank Holiday.

RedFM News has sought a response from Bus Eireann on the issue.

SIPTU representative in Cork Pat Hartnett told RedFM News that further travel disruption could be on the cards this week
