Calls for Health Minister to deliver funding promised for CUMH
In March Simon Harris agreed to provide funding if the gynaecology waiting lists were reduced
The number of women waiting more than 18 months for an outpatient appointment at the CUMH has reduced by a third.
In April the figure stood at just over 1000, but was reduced to 693 by the end of August.
Consulants at the CUMH have been working effortlessly at the ward by providing additional clinics in a bid to meet the terms of the agreement.
Simon Harris committed to a €14 million investment over three years while doctors requested €2.7 million for 2018 to provide two additional consultant posts and for the opening of a second theatre.
The Irish Examiner reports the department has declined to issue a comments on the funding issues for 2018 while the budgetary process is ongoing.
