Concerns raised after a number of Cork Schools withdraw from the Suicide Prevention Programme

Cork Counselling Services have raised concerns that as a result some young people will not be able to avail of their specialist services

Any opportunity to talk about positive mental health should be seized.

That's according to the HSE Area Lead for Mental Health Engagement in the Community for Cork and Kerry Rory Doody, who says the conversation about positive well-being is very important.

He was reacting to the news that a number of Cork Schools have withdrawn from the implementation of a Suicide Prevention Programme due to the myth that talking about suicide increases the risk.

Speaking to RedFM News Rory Doody says it's important to keep the lines of communication open.
