Confirmed: HSE Ambulance Service Will Operate In Millstreet On Full Time Basis From September

The ambulance service was withdrawn in December 2012 and was replaced by a Rapid Response Vehicle

It's been confirmed that the HSE Ambulance Service will operate in Millstreet on a full time basis from September.

The ambulance service was withdrawn in December 2012 and was replaced by a Rapid Response Vehicle manned by a single paramedic per shift.

The move was met with considerable opposition at the time leading to repeated calls for the service to be restored.

A recent review carried out by the HSE found Rapid Response Vehicles in areas such as Millstreet should be replaced by a transporting Ambulance.
