Cork Community Group calls on Government for guidelines in Solar Farm industry

Due to a lack of National Guidelines, the group says the Government is not prepared for regulation of a solar industry in Ireland

A Cork Community Group has highlighted a severe lack of guidelines in the Solar Farm industry.

The Jagoes Mills Action Group are calling on Minister Simon Coveney to respond to a motion by Cork County Council to place a moratorium on the construction of solar power plants, until proper Planning Guidelines have been put in place.

An Bord Pleanala is currently considering planning for a 32 acre solar facility at Farrangalway in Kinsale, but have also raised concerns about lack of guidelines.
