Cork Lions Club appealing to the public to think of the consequences before damaging life saving equipment
They issued the appeal as the defibrillator cabinet on Oliver Plunkett Street has been vandalised for the seventh time
The Cork City Centre Defibrillator group say they are very disappointed that this unit has again been targeted, and say the continued vandalism of such equipment are putting lives at risk.
Last year Cork City Council had to replace three hundred lifebuoys because of theft or damage.
Gardai have launched an investigation into the most recent incident and are examining CCTV footage in a bid to find those responsible.
Speaking to RedFM News Martyn Whalley from the Cork Lions Club says it is an example of mindless vandalism.
