Cork's Sexual Violence Centre Calls for Increase To Resources For Young People

15% of victims that visited Cork's Sexual Violence Centre in 2017 were aged between 14 and 18.

So far this year the centre has helped over 310 victims of sex crimes from across the Munster area.

Management at the centre say they would like to work with children under the age of 14, but the do not have the resources to do so.

They are calling on the Government to provide extra funding to fill the gap in providing assistance to young people across the city and county who are suffering abuse.

Speaking to RedFM News Mary Crilly from the Cork Sexual Violence Centre says the numbers availing of the centre are growing each year:
