Counselling Services Offered To Friends Of CIT Student Who Died On J1 Visa
Friends of a CIT student who died in the US following a swimming accident are being offered counselling services through the college.
22 year old Philip Leahy from Ballyhooly, who was on a J1 in the States, suffered cardiac arrest after getting into difficulty while swimming in Ocean City last week. He died in hospital on Sunday with his family at his bedside.
He was due to be conferred at CIT in October after receiving an honours degree in Business and has been described as a popular student.
Funeral arrangements have yet to be made but a service in his memory is being held at Ballyhooly tonight at 8.30pm
