Delays expected on N20 Cork-Mallow Road as articulated lorry carrying hundreds of live chickens overturns
Motorists are being advised to expect delays on the N20 Cork to Mallow Road which is reduced to one lane, north of Blarney.
It's understood an articulated lorry was involved in a collision shortly before 2 o'clock this morning just south of Wise's Bridge, and is on it's side, blocking a large section of the road.
It means all traffic travelling from both the Cork and Limerick direction is being filtered into just one lane.
A traffic management has been put in place and a stop/go system is in operation.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and was attended to by an ambulance.
The lorry was carrying hundreds of live chickens - it's understood that some escaped and some died.
A number of other emergency services are involved including the gardaí, the local authority, motory way control, and the fire brigade.
Gardaí have told RedFM News that it will take some time to get the lorry upright and motorists are being advised of significant delays.
