€5m Milk Powder Plant Opens In Kanturk
A €5m milk powder plant has officially been opened in Kanturk today. The processing plant at North Cork Co-operative Creameries now positions the area to process increased volumes of milk, expand processing requirements and supply growing global demand. The expansion also comes ahead of the abolition of milk quotas in 2015 - which will free up dairy farmers and processors from current constraints on milk production. AUDIO: Speaking to Cork's RedFM CEO of the creameries Pat Sheehan says it will secure the 55 jobs at the plant with room for further employment opportunites. Click the PLAY button above to hear.
