Fianna Fail leader to meet with nursing representatives
It comes following loss of nursing staff at a Cork Hospital.
16 nursing positions have been cut from St Finbarr's Hospital with nursing staff now standing at just 94.
Michael Martin says agency staff should not be cut and the cuts could further increase the number of people waiting on trolleys in the CUH's emergency department.
Meanwhile the HSE have responded saying there are no plans to reduce the number of directly employed staff but instead are planning to reduce the reliance of expensive agency staff.
According to a report in the Irish Examiner, Micheal Martin is to meet with representatives on Monday to discuss the cuts.
