First Phase Of Dursey Island Project Passes Failte Ireland Scheme
A new project to enhance tourism in Dursey Island has passed the first phase of Fáilte Irelands Grant Scheme for Large Tourism Projects.
The County Mayor has welcomed the news and says Dursey Island is one of the signature discovery points located along the Wild Atlantic Way and cementing its position as an iconic tourist attraction will result in significant increased visitor numbers to West Cork.
The project will involve the construction of a two-car aerial tramway system from the mainland to Dursey Island to replace the existing cable car and the construciton of two Visitor Centres.
