Four road projects in Cork to benefit under Government Investment Plan

€6 billion is being spent on road projects nationally

The government's unveiled its 27 billion euro capital spending plan, which it says will create 45,000 construction jobs.

The plan includes a series of new road and schools programmes - as well as the construction of a new Metro North rail line.

However the link connecting Dublin Airport with the city centre won't be completed until at least 2026.

Six billion euro is being spent on road projects nationally with some of that funding earmarked for the Cork to Ringaskiddy road upgrade, the Macroom by-pass, the Mallow Relief Road and the Dunkettle interchange.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny denies that the plan is a pre-election stunt - because there are plenty of things he wanted to include, but couldn't:
