Fresh calls for third exit to alleviate traffic congestion in Little Island
Transport Infrastructure Ireland is facing fresh calls for the developement of a thrid exit on the eastern side of Little Island in a bid to alleviate traffic congestion in the area.
The proposal has been made to the TII with representations from both the Little Island Business Association and the local authority.
Over 1,000 businesses are located in the area and concern has been expressed about increased volumes and backlogs of traffic at peak times.
RedFM News has learned that a number of land owners have come together and have agreed to donate a portion of the their land to facilitate the third exit.
Speaking to RedFM News Cheif Executive of Little Island Business Association Michael Mulcahy says the development of a third exit will require a great deal of lobbying from all levels:
