Funding boost for 15 projects in Cork County

€1.3 million has been announced for towns and villages in rural Cork under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.

15 projects in Cork County which it's hoped will help rejuvenate and revitalise rural Ireland are to benefit from the funding.

Almost €800,000 of the funding is to be allocated to  Cork South West. Among those are cycleway and pedestrian access routes in Clonakilty, the renovation of a local museum in Kinsale, new pontoon facilities in Schull and the Ludgate Hub Innovation cluster in Skibbereen.

Elsewhere 7,000 farmers across Cork are set to benefit from funding announced under the Areas of Natural Constraints Scheme.

Just over €13 million has been allocated to Cork.
