Funding Gap Hangs Over Long Awaited Cork Events Centre
Cork City Council has heard that a ‘funding gap’ still hangs over the city's long awaited Events Centre despite assurances that a deal was imminent two months ago.
It's over two years since the sod was turned at the former Beamish & Crawford site for the 5,000 seat venue but construction has yet to start
€30 million of public funding is expected to be allocated to the project which has been hit by delays, a re-design and rising costs...
It's now been revealed that there is still a gap between the level of State funding and the private funding which is due to come from BAM and Live Nation.
The Irish Examiner reports however that despite the funding gap city officials insisted at last night's Council meeting that all involved are still committed to delivering the facility
