Garda Back Up To Be Provided For Bonfire Night Call Outs
Cork City's Fire Service will have a Garda car escort them to every call out this evening.
The extra measures have been put in place in an effort to reduce attacks on Emergency Services personnel in the wake of a number of incidents last year.
City Council is in its 10th year of running controlled celebrations in five parks across the north and south side of the city.
Gardai are appealing for people to attend only authorised bonfires this evening and to report any unofficial blazes that are being organised.
Speaking to RedFM News Third Officer at Cork City Fire Service Declan O'Shea says they have plans in place to reduce attacks on Emergency Services Personnel:
