Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses Following Fatal Crash In Glanmire
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was killed in Glanmire.
Emergency services were called to the scene of a road traffic collision between a car and the motorbike during rush hour yesterday evening.
The motorcyclist - a male in his 20s - sustained serious injures and was pronounced dead at the scene, and was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem is expected to take place sometime today.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Gardai are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them at Anglesea Street on 021 4522000.
This latest fatality brings to 11 the number of people who have died on Cork roads.
Brian Farrell of the Road Safety Authority recently spoke to RedFM News about the the Cork road death toll and says the summer months are a dangerous time of year on the roads:
