Gardai in Crosshaven and Togher say they have received no official reports of Puma sightings in Cork despite growing rumours.
The Puma or Cougar is a large American wild cat with a greyish coat, usually found in areas near Canada.
However, there have been a number of claimed sightings of the wild animal in recent days in the Crosshaven and Fountainstown areas.
Local animal welfare group CSPCA say they have received 6 credible sightings over the past 9 days....
And speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM, Vincent Cashman from the CSPCA outlines what measures the organisation is taking to catch the wild cat:
