UPDATE AT 9PM
Gardaí responded to a report of an alleged assault on the North Gate Bridge in Cork this evening.
The incident took place at approximately 5.50pm.
A man (20s) received injuries following the incident, but these are not thought to be life threatening.
A man (20s) has since been arrested in connection with this incident. He is currently detained at the Bridewell Garda Station in Cork.
Investigations are ongoing.
