Gardaí say there are no reports of any Irish victims of the latest worldwide cyber attack

Corporations and institutions in at least 74 countries - including the UK, Russia, Spain and Portugal - have been affected by the ransomware

The HSE has taken measures to protect its I.T network amid a major cyber attack which is affecting up to 100 countries around the world.

Corporations and institutions have been affected by the ransomware which targets files and demands that a payment be made in order to unlock them.

Gardaí say there are no reports of any Irish victims but the HSE says, as a precautionary measure, it has cut its networks off from external use, and has declared it a major incident.

Ciaran Martin from the British National Cyber Security Centre says countries are working together to get to the bottom of it.
