Guns Seized In Cork To Be Examined
Gardai investigating a foiled assassination attempt in Cork at the weekend have sent guns seized from the suspects to Dublin for examination by ballistic experts. Gardai recovered a loaded semi-automatic pistol and a loaded revolver when they arrested two men in the Deanrock area of Togher at around 4.10pm on Saturday. Gardai are continuing to question the two men and officers say they are keeping an open mind on whom the men were planning to attack but they believe the operation was the work of the Real IRA who have targeted drug dealers in the past.
