Historic Flight From Boston To Cork A Gamechanger For Tourism Leeside
Cork Chamber has hailed the new Boston Providence to Cork service as a milestone that will change the face of tourism Leeside.
As hundreds of passengers disembarked from Norwegian Air flight D81820 this morning, up to 1,000 extra Hotel beds are planned across the city as five major hotel projects are currently under development.
It's expected hundreds of jobs will be created in the tourism sector as the new transatlantic route opens up the lucrative Americann market.
The new Hotel projects include an extension to the Metrople, the refurbishment of the Kingsley and plans for new Hotels in Parnell Place and on the South Mall.
Speaking to RedFM News CEO of Cork Chamber Conor Healy says the city needs to be prepared for an influx of US visitors:
