Housing Minister Urged To Clarify Position On Proposed City Boundary Extension
Cork County Council has written to the Housing Minister seeking urgent clarification on the role and terms of reference of the Cork Local Government Implementation Oversight Group.
The IOG has been specifically charged with overseeing the development of proposals for the boundary alteration and their implementation by both the City and County councils....
However today the leaders of all political parties on the Council have expressed their concern regarding the approach being taken to the oversight and implementation of the MacKinnon Report on the future arragements for local Government in Cork..
Fianna Fail's Seamus McGrath told RedFM News that the IOG appear to believe that their role is to implement a boundary extension at all costs and they do not appear to be open to negotiation on the matter
