HSE Report Into Ambulance Response Delayed

A HSE report into why an ambulance failed to attend the scene of a dying boy in East Cork won't be published until mid autumn at the earliest. Vakaris Martinaitis fell from an upstairs window at his home in Midleton on the 6th of May and had to be transferred to hospital by a neighbour following a misunderstanding with a 999 call. The HSE investigation into the toddler was meant to be pubilshed by the end of July but it's suffered unspecified delays. The probe into the tragedy, which occurred just days before the child's second birthday, is expected to focus on the exact wording of the 999 call made immediately after the accident took place.
