Immediate Future Of Transatlantic Flights From Cork Airport Is Uncertain
The immediate future of transatlantic flights from Cork Airport is uncertain, according to Norwegian Air.
Flights from Cork to Providence are due to return in two weeks' time, however the grounding of Boeing's 737 Max fleet following a second fatal crash earlier this month means the airline must replace the aircraft.
Micheál Ryan, who lived with his wife and children in the city centre was one of 157 people killed when an Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max plane crashed soon after take-off.
Cork Airport says it is in regular contact with Norwegian, who are trying to source alternative aircraft for the route.
