INMO Says Planned Action Will Have A Huge Impact On Hospitals In Cork  

Members of the nursing union are set to hold their first strike on January 30th


The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says their planned strike action over pay and retention will have a huge impact on hospitals in Cork  

The warning comes as the nursing union meets with the HSE today to discuss contingency plans for the strike dates. 

Members of the nursing union are set to hold their first strike on January 30th, while the Psychiatric Nurses Association says its members plan to strike next month unless their pay and conditions improve.

Visitor restrictions remain in place at Cork University Hospital following an outbreak of flu, however the situation is likely to get worse at the hospital as a major increase in the number of people presenting with flu is expected in the coming weeks.
