Irish based scientists raise hope in the fight against breast cancer

They've discovered new measures to tackle a 'hard to treat' form of breast cancer.

As a result doctors could in future be in a position to spare some cancer patients the harsh effects of chemotherapy.

A new tool has been developed which aims to predict how effective chemotherapy is likely to be in treating triple-negative breast cancer patients .

Dr Robert O'Connor is Head of Cancer Research at the Irish Cancer Society.
