Justice Minister Says More Can Be Done To Improve How Rape Trials Are Conducted
Charlie Flanagan says he's very concerned with the perceived under reporting of sexual abuse
His comments come as new figues for Cork show a 48% rise in the number of reported rapes in the city since the start of the year
49 rapes have been reported to Gardai so far this year up from 33 for the same period last year.
Leading campaigners against sexual violence in Cork say the increase doesn't mean that rape is on the rise but instead reflects the prevalence of sexual violence in Ireland today
