The Knocknaheeny woman says an increase in fly-tipping has resulted in a rat infestation in the area, with her home being one of the worst affected due to its proximity to a laneway where vast amounts of rubbish is being dumped.
The mother of three says she's afraid to let her children outside, she's had to get rid of her dogs as the rats were eating their food and they have also eaten through her wheelie bins and garden shed.
Speaking to RedFM News Amanda says rats are nesting in the front and back of the house and she believes they're now in the hundreds:
Local Cllr Mick Nugent says while the City Council are continuously working to remove illegal rubbish, those who are dumping it need to be face harsher penalties:
