Lack of mental health services for distressed children across Cork

It's due to the ongoing staffing crisis

That's according to East Cork TD Pat Buckley who says the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services has been badly hit by recruitment difficulties, resignations and staff annual leave.

The CAMHS service at Cork University Hospital and the Mercy University Hospital provides assessment and specialist treatment for young people and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

Deputy Buckley also raised concerns about teenagers being admitted to adult wards because of a lack  out-of-hours or weekend cover.

Speaking to RedFM News TD Pat Buckley says vulnerable children are being let down by long waiting lists.
