Leo Varadkar says reports of a suicidal young girl being denied an abortion are 'worrying and disturbing'

The girl was moved to a psychiatric unit as she sought a termination, on the advice of a psychiatrist who said an abortion was not the solution

Under current legislation an abortion is allowed if there's a substantial threat to the mother's life, including a threat of suicide.

Fine Gael leader Leo Varadkar said it's a matter to be resolved between the doctor and the patient.
