Lord Mayor To Host A Meeting With The Chief Executive Of The City Council And City Council Party Leaders
The meeting this afternoon will raise traders concerns about the private car ban on Patrick Street..
Lord Mayor Cllr Tony Fitzgerald says a statement will be issued following today's meeting which comes on foot of last nights heated debate in the city centre where traders called for a reversal of the ban.
That meeting heard that the car ban has led to some business owners cutting staff hours while they are hit by a 30-50% drop in business over the last three weks.
There was a unanimous show of hands for the restrictions to be removed by City Council and a call for all traders to attend next Monday's City Council meeting.
Speaking to Cork's RedFM CBA President Philip Gillivan is urging city centre traders to try and remain positive in an effort to attract shoppers into town
