A major incident was averted last night in Castletownbere after a local fishing vessel got into difficulty coming into the harbour 

The 25 metre trawler with 6 people on board was being blown ashore in force 7-8 gale force winds with a 4/5 metre swell 

Castletownbere Lifeboat was tasked just after 7pm and was on the scene within 4 minutes 

Speaking to RedFM News Lifeboat Operations Manager Paul Stevens outlined how the rescue operation swung into action
