Man Rescued By Helicopter From The Top Of Blarney Castle

Emergency services were scrambled after he suffered a cardiac arrest

A man had to rescued by helicopter from the top of Blarney Castle this morning after he suffered a cardiac arrest 

The alarm was raised at 10.20am and an emergency team responded to the Castle however they encountered great difficulty in bringing the man down to the ground floor to a waiting ambulance 

Valentia Coastguard was alerted and they scrambled Rescue Helicopter 115 from Shannon to assist with the operation 

The man was winched onto the helicopter with the assistance of Crosshaven coastguard ground crew and he was removed by ambulance to Cork University Hospital for treatment
