Nearly 4,000 People Were Left On Trolleys At Cork University Hospital After Being Admitted

The figures relate to the first seven months of this year

Almost 4,000 people were left on trolleys after being admitted for care at Cork University Hospital in the first 7 months of this year.

The figures come as the nurses union has accused the A&E task force established to tackle overcrowding of failing to resolve problems.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says the task force has become expert at measuring and describing the problems, but not resolving them.

The INMO figures show the worst overcrowding was at University Hospital Limerick, where 4,782 patients remained on trolleys with 3,949 on trolleys at Cork University Hospital.
