New ban on private cars on Patrick St continues to cause controversy

The Chief Executive of Cork City Council says she doesn't want a hostile situation between traders and City Hall.

Ann Doherty spoke out on Cork's RedFM this morning and called on traders to allow for a three-month bedding in period before any changes are made to current measure which prohibits cars from entering Patrick St between the hours of 3pm to 6.30pm.

It comes as Bus Eireann released figures this morning which show that there's been a reduction in travel time since the introduction of the new measure.

Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Cork City Council Chief Executive Ann Doherty says she understands there are challenges but bedding in period is needed.
