New report warns housing crisis is the biggest threat to our economy
The latest outlook from Friends First predicts that average house prices will continue to rise by at least 10 percent in 2019.
Last August a number of people camped overnight to buy a new home at Kinsale Manor as the showhouses in the estate were launched.
The move sparked concern about the Cork housing market and the fact that demand is continuing to outstrip supply resulting in rising house prices.
This morning desperate house hunters are currently queuing outside the sales office in a newly built housing estate in Dublin - but the houses aren't on sale until Friday.
Economist Jim Power is the author of Friends First report - he's blaming the Government for the housing shortage.
