New Take On Hotel Beds Set For Cork
Cork is in line to get a ' floating hotel ‘.
The man proposing Ireland’s first floating hotel, which would be docked at the city's quays, says he is still committed to the project, despite delays in the planning process.
The planned facility on the city’s northern quays will not be called a hotel, due to a-plic-able standards, but a ‘botel’.
It would help to ease the pressure on hotel beds in the city however the Irish Examiner reports that requests from city planners for further information have mean the "botel" may not be operational until the end of the year.
Meanwhile..
Two hotels are planned for Parnell Place in a former warehouse which is being sold by the City Council.
The former warehouses at Nos 7, 8 and 9 Parnell Place next to the bus station, are under offer of €2.75m for conversion to hotels.
