North Korea Says It Plans To Go Ahead With Plans To Bomb Guam

North Korea's military says it's pressing ahead with plans to fire missiles at the US Pacific island of Guam.

It says the plan will be ready by mid August, and it will then wait for an order from Kim Jong Un to carry it out.

 

A statement from one of North Korea's top generals also described Donald Trump's threat to inflict "fire and fury" on North Korea as "a load of nonsense".

 

He also claims the US President is "bereft of reason".

 

There's been international concern over the escalating war of words.

 

But US State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert says there's a logic behind President Trump's strong rhetoric:
