Older people living in Cork are struggling to make ends meet on the state pension

That's according to Age Action Ireland who say a change made to the eligibility criteria for the contributory pension in 2012, has hit women the hardest

The change means the current generation of pensioners get no benefit from the Homemaker's Scheme, which allows for top-ups to State pension payments for those taking time out of the workforce to care for children.

Age Action is calling on Social Protection Minister Leo Varadkar to reverse the 2012 pension cut.

Speaking to RedFM News Age Action Ireland's Naomi Feely says pensioners are living in fear of the next bill through the door.
