Parts Of West Cork Left Devastated By Flash Flooding
Damages are estimated to run into millions of euro
Businesses and homes in the Rosscarbery area were particularly badly hit following thunderstorms and torrential rain on Wednesday night and again yesterday
A number of roads between Rosscarbery and Glandore were just washed away after the weather left it's mark on the West Cork villages
Roads in the area were impassable for a time yesterday as council engineers and the fire service worked to alleviate the flooding and carry out necessary repair works and delivering sand bags to affected properties
Cork County Council are asking people to report damaged roads or property to them so they can carry out assessment works to see how much damage has been done
Speaking to RedFM News local Fianna Fail TD Christopher O'Sullivan says the level of damage is shocking
