Plans For Budget Hotel In The City Centre Have Hit A Stumbling Block

An appeal has been lodged against the decision to grant planning for a 162-bed hotel on the site of the former Flor Griffin and Maher's stores on Parnell Place.

The appeal expressed concern about the impact of the 7-storey development on local residents and is calling for a minimal reduction in the overall size of the hotel.

The company behind the development says 100 full and part time jobs will be created when the hotel is built, as well as 200 jobs at construction phase
