Politicians, Charities & Housing Experts To Discuss Solutions For Homelessness And Housing Crisis
Politicians, charities and housing experts will gather today to discuss how the homelessness and housing crisis can be resolved.
The conference is being organised by the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, and comes after December figures showing an 8 per cent drop in the number of families in emergency accommodation.
However, there was a 17% overall rise in 2017.
In Cork There were 57 families in emergency accommodation in the Southwest during the last week of December 2017. This represents a fall of 10% compared to November 2017, but an increase of 50% compared to December 2016 and an increase of 137% compared to December 2015.
