Cork Senator Jerry Buttimer says he will raise the issue following calls to reduce the amount of people presenting to hospital Emergency Departments while intoxicated.
A study of all 29 emergency departments in Ireland found that patients presenting to the A and E due to alcohol consumption are most likely to be male, to arrive by ambulance and to leave against medical advice without being seen by a doctor.
